We first met Alison and Kevin in the Summer of 2022 where we discussed the extension they were planning to carry out on their home. At the time, they had already designed their Kitchen with another company and were quite certain they would be proceeding with them. Fast forward 2 weeks and we received a phone call asking to see the quality of our product and to also discuss the design they had planned. We discussed a few changes they would like to make and discussed potential colour options for the space. This meeting also gave Alison and Kevin a chance to get to know both Georgia and Steve more which was the start of their journey with HOHD.
Their home was originally built as a school for the local area and became a Church hall some years later so has a very traditional feel to it. For the new extension, Alison and Kevin wanted a contrast to the rest of the house and created an ultra modern space. Therefore a modern Kitchen was needed! We settled on a slab door with a push mechanism for the bank of tall units and a handleless track system for the rest of the Kitchen. We explored a couple of colour options, originally settling on the Magenta colour, which we went on to use for the glass splashback, for the doors. Alison had great fun painting her old Kitchen doors in various different colours before deciding on Teal for the Island and Tall Units and a Dust Grey to contrast for the Sink run.
Once all the finer details had been thought out and a final measure up had been carried out , we started the manufacturing process. They opted for a Concrete finish for the units so when opening their cupboards, this is what they saw internally. Following the installation of the units and doors, the Quartz Worktop was fitted, the glass splashback could then be templated and fitted around their wall units, both finishing the space off beautifully!
We absolutely loved creating a Kitchen that is completely individual to our client. I don’t think you will find many Kitchens with a Concrete carcass, Teal and Grey doors, White Worktops with a Magenta splashback! A ‘Bespoke Kitchen’ isn’t always being able to make any size to fit any space, it can also mean tailoring the space exactly to your client.
